Unit 2
This one is funnier. Spies like us, by Paul McCartney
Find out the meaning of the words in bold:
OOH, OOH, WHAT DO YOU DO?
NO ONE ELSE CAN DANCE LIKE YOU.
SO WHAT'S ALL THE FUZZ,
THERE AIN'T NOBODY THAT SPIES LIKE US.
HEY, HEY, WHAT DO YOU SAY?
SOMEONE TOOK YOUR PLANS AWAY.
SO WHAT'S ALL THE FUZZ,
THERE AIN'T NOBODY THAT SPIES LIKE US.
HEY, DON'T FEEL AFRAID
OF AN UNDERCOVER AID.
THERE'S NO NEED TO FUZZ,
AIN'T NOBODY THAT SPIES LIKE US, SPIES LIKE US.
OH!
WE DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF FEAR,
WE PLAY EV'RY MINUTE BY EAR.
ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE, (oh-oh)
EV'RYBODY'S ON THE RUN, (oh-oh)
ESPECIALLY AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
OOH, OOH, WHAT DO YOU DO?
NO ONE ELSE CAN DANCE LIKE YOU.
SO WHAT'S ALL THE FUZZ,
AIN'T NOBODY GOT SPIES LIKE US.
HEY, HEY, WHAT DO YOU SAY?
NO ONE ELSE CAN LOOK THAT WAY.
SO WHAT'S ALL THE FUZZ,
THERE AIN'T NOBODY THAT SPIES LIKE US.
SNOOKIE!
SPIES -
OH!
WE GET THERE BY HOOK OR BY CROOK,
WE DON'T DO A THING BY THE BOOK.
NEVER NEEDED SPECIAL CLOTHES, (oh-oh)
HOW WE DID IT, NO ONE KNOWS. (oh-oh)
GUESS WE MUST HAVE HAD WHAT IT TOOK.
OOH-OOH-OOH-OOH,
OOH-OOH-OOH-OOH-OOH,
OH, WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH,
OH, WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH,
GUYS LIKE US ACT ROUGH,
GUYS LIKE US ACT ROUGH.
HEY, HEY, WHAT DO YOU SAY?
SOMEONE TOOK THE PLANS AWAY.
SO WHAT'S ALL THE FUZZ,
AIN'T NOBODY THAT SPIES LIKE US, SPIES LIKE US.
OH!
SPIES LIKE US,

Monthly Internet Practice
As you know, you must hand in Internet exercises once a month. In fact, if you work well, you will discover that English teachers are becoming almost obsolete and that you don’t need them at all. There are lots of English learning materials online – you can choose grammar and vocabulary, but do not miss the chance to practise your listening and reading skills. There are chats for learners of English as well.
You can try these out, but remember to hand in a printed copy of the exercise you choose! And remember, use only FREE materials, do not buy anything!
As you know, the easiest way to find something on the web is with http://www.google.com, a search engine. You can type in ESL exercises free, or whatever you are looking for, for example, ‘infinitives and gerunds’. You’ll be surprised at the results. This may be time consuming, however.
